This is a book with good coverage, good continuity, solid foundation, In-depth treatment, enhanced pedagogy and structural flexibility.

I recommend this book to anyone seriously engaged in image processing. This book is good for those who are new to image processing, because it helps you understand what image processing does. It will clearly stretch the horizon of students and be a good reference for researchers.

This book is informative and rich in content. While writing up this review, I realize the extensiveness of materials covered in Digital Image Processing. I felt that the book was quite readable.

The author seems to have worked hard to develop this typescript. Attempt has been made to illustrate the concepts with numerical examples at most of the places.

I feel that, authors have taken care to cover the breadth and depth of the subject both in qualitative as well quantitative way. Plenty of problems and MATLAB programs have been worked out to make the learning of the subject easier. Though there are a number of books on this title, I am opinion that this book is ‘Taylor Made One’ for the readers.

The given typescript is very much practical oriented in comparison to current text, which gives the solid reason to compete with current text. Also the way of representing the topics are easily understandable.

Figures, Diagrams and Drawings are very well used through out the book. This will definitely be going to help in understanding the concepts and its applications. Writing style is good and will be appreciated by the readers of the book.

The typescript covers all important topics. Writing style is easy to understand, which is helpful to beginners.

Very good coverage of topics in every chapter.

The description of the topics is excellent and easy to understand.

Most of the DIP textbooks were written by foreign authors and it is somewhat difficult for the readers to understand”. This typescript presents concepts of Digital Image Processing in an easy language. Examples and exercise are one of the major strengths of this text.

The writing style is good. It provides simple examples.

The level of discussion is consistent and deep enough for the students. What I like about this chapter (2D Convolution) that is missing in the previous text (Gonzalez) is the detailed explanation of convolution with the use of diagrams and matrices and also matlab code.

I would highly recommend developing this text for US college market.

Comprehensive coverage of image restoration and denoising techniques. Detailed derivation of important techniques Useful MATLAB codes.

The most significant strength of this chapter is that it provides a good description of image sensors and image scanners.
