Exercise 7: The Classification of Organisms
Exercise 7 is an introduction to animal taxonomy. A cladistic approach to the classification of a group of hypothetical animals involves students looking for synapomorphies that can be used in grouping animals. The exercise results in the generation of a cladogram and a set of scientific names for the hypothetical animals.
