ISBN: 0070648484
Copyright year: 2008

Fluid mechanics is the subdiscipline of continuum mechanics that studies fluids, that is, liquids and gases. It can be further subdivided into fluid statics, the study of fluids at rest, and fluid dynamics, the study of fluids in motion. In the modern discipline called Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), computational approach is used to develop solutions to fluid mechanics problems.

Fluid Mechanics sixth edition will continue the text's tradition of excellent problems of different types, precision and accuracy, and good application of concepts to engineering. The new 6th edition will feature the best general problem-solving approach to date, presented at the start of the book and carefully integrated in all examples. Students can progress from general ones to those involving design, multiple steps and computer usage. Word problems are included to build readers’ conceptual understanding of the subject, and FE Exam problems (in multiple-choice format) are included. EES (Engineering Equation Solver) software is included so that students can effectively use the computer to model, solve and modify typical fluid mechanics problems.

This Online Learning Center is designed to enhance your learning experience. It provides a broad array of resources that will benefit both the instructors and students. Visit the Information Center to unravel the book's features.
