Directions: Practice using commas and quotation marks by writing a brief dialogue. Imagine that you are speaking to an old friend you haven't seen in many years. Write out what the two of you might say to one another, using quotes and commas correctly.

Read the essays, paying special attention to comma use. How do the authors use commas differently? Does one use them correctly and the other incorrectly? Why do you think there are differences in the way people use commas?
