Activity 1

Directions: Of the punctuation marks introduced in this chapter, which one is your favourite? Once you've made your decision, find and read an essay on the Internet. You might look at This Magazine online, or cbc.ca. How does the author of the article use your favourite punctuation mark? Does he or she use it more or less frequently than you do? Did you learn anything about how it is used?

Activity 2

Directions: For a helpful review of other punctuation marks (colons, semi-colons, dashes, parentheses, and hyphens) visit The Purdue University Online Writing Lab and take notes during your visit.
