Activity 1

Directions: One of the most important parts of any papers is the title. So it is very important that the title of your essay is correctly capitalized. Practice this skill by writing the titles of your favourite, book, movie, and television show as if they were essay titles. Be sure to follow all the rules of capitalization!

Activity 2
Directions: Some organizations—such as CBC, CUPE, CIDA, and TSN–are known almost exclusively by initials. Conduct an internet search, starting at a search engine like Yahoo! or AltaVista, and find out what the letters in the titles of these, or any other organization, stand for. Why do you think these organizations decided not to go by their "full names"?
