Jan R. Williams is Ernst & Young Professor and Acting Dean of the College of Business Administration, University of Tennessee. He received a BS degree from George Peabody College, an MBA from Baylor University, and Ph.D. from the University of Arkansas. He was formerly on the faculties of the University of Georgia and Texas Tech University. He is a CPA in Tennessee and Arkansas. His primary teaching and research interests are corporate financial reporting. He is currently the author or co-author of four books and over 70 articles and other publications on issues of financial reporting and accounting education.

Dr. Williams has been extensively involved in professional accounting activities with the American Accounting Association (AAA), the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), the Tennessee Society of CPAs, and other organizations. In 1999-2000, he served as president of the AAA and in that capacity traveled extensively throughout the world speaking on issues related to accounting education and practice. He has recently served on two task forces of the AICPA to redesign the CPA examination to meet the changing needs of the profession for the 21st century.

Currently the Ernst & Young Professor of Accounting and Chair of the Department of Accounting at Michigan State University, Sue has been awarded several teaching awards. She is the recipient of the prestigious All-University Teacher-Scholar Award and has twice received the Department's Outstanding teaching award. Sue also spoke twice at the American Accounting Association's New Faculty Consortium on Teaching. Sue is the Editor of Behavioral Research in Accounting, an Associate Editor of the Journal of Management Accounting Research and serves on the editorial boards of The Accounting Review, Accounting Horizons and Management Accounting Research. Also active in the American Accounting Association, Sue has served as president of the Management Accounting Section and Director of the Doctoral Consortium.

Associate Professor at Bucknell University, Mark Bettner has received numerous teaching and research awards. In addition to his work on the Meigs and Williams titles, he has written many ancillary materials, published in scholarly journals, and presented at numerous academic and practitioner conferences. Mark is also on the editorial advisory boards of several academic journals, including the International Journal of Accounting and Business Society.
