A otro nivel: Intermediate Spanish is an exciting new communication-oriented program that stresses the importance of culture and open-ended conversation while offering a review and expansion of language structures appropriate for intermediate speakers of Spanish. The focus of this second-year textbook is to offer activities that are thought-provoking and that naturally elicit spontaneous and meaningful responses, with special attention placed on taking into account the maturity level of a typical college student, whatever their age. A otro nivel presents culture in a way so as to provide students with valuable information about the Spanish-speaking world while helping them reflect on their own culture, mores, and values. Grammar lessons, vocabulary-building exercises, and authentic readings all encourage students to develop critical ideas about Spanish language, literature, and cultures and to express their opinions through in-depth conversation.
