Motivating the Workforce

BATW Exercises

Telecom, a telecommunications company, is considering implementing a telecommuting policy in order to increase employee satisfaction and motivation. Telecom executives think this new option will be very popular among its family-oriented employees, who may be joggling the demands of work in addition to that of raising children. As a preliminary measure, the new policy will only be implemented in three of Telecom's nationwide buildings. Using the census data provided in the Business Around the World Map for the US, find out which three states are most likely to qualify as test locations. (Hint: High percentages of households with more than 2 people and higher numbers of people under the age of 18 would be ideal places to begin looking.)
