Politics: Setting the Stage
Web LinksAmerican Political Science Association (APSA)
This is the professional association for nearly all American political scientists. http://www.apsanet.org/ British Political Science Association (BPSA)
This is the comparable association for British political scientists. This site
offers excellent suggested resources to learn more about a wide range of political
science and politics-related topics. http://www.psa.ac.uk/ Political Index
One of the most comprehensive sources for
political information on the Web; there are thousands of links
on various topics, especially American politics. Thankfully,
this site is well organized (though its probably too vast to browse
through). http://www.politicalindex.com/ Political Site Of The Day
This site always suggests something interesting, sometimes offbeat. http://www.penncen.com/psotd/ University of Michigan Documents Center: Political Science
This is one of the very best Web-sites for accessing information on
all aspects of political science. There is something here for
political scientists of all levels – beginning and advanced students,
teachers too! The ‘News Media' section is one of the most
comprehensive collections for browsing Web-based news sources (though
many are academically-oriented). http://www.lib.umich.edu/govdocs/polisci.html Women and Politics, maintained by Rutgers University
This is an excellent site for information on a wide range of women's issues
(both academic and non-academic). http://www-rci.rutgers.edu/~cawp/ Canadian Politics, maintained by the University of British
Columbia
An especially good site for those interested in Canadian
politics. http://www.library.ubc.ca/poli/welcome.html European Politics.
Allows you to search political sites in Europe, the UK, or worldwide. http://sosig.esrc.bris.ac.uk/ Richard Kimber's Political Science Resources
This is simply one of the very best resource listings for political science. Based
in the United Kingdom, this list provides more of international
coverage than other, comparable sources in the U.S. There is access
here to every imaginable aspect of political science: area studies,
elections, constitutions, parties, political theory, news sources,
etc. This site may be a bit large, but it offers information for
browsing or researching topics from every chapter of the text. http://www.psr.keele.ac.uk/ Political Science Sources, maintained by Bob Goehlert, Subject Librarian
for Political Science, at Indiana University
Goehlert is the author of various books on political science research; this
is a very good site to for browsing various resources. http://www.indiana.edu/~libsalc/ps/pshome.html Poly-Cy Resources, maintained by West Virginia University
A comprehensive guide to almost all aspects of the profession (with
interesting resources for non-academics, but politically interested
citizens, to browse as well). http://www.polsci.wvu.edu/polycy/ Political Science Resources, maintained by Vanderbilt University.
This is a very well organized guide to political science and general political
sources on the Web. http://www.vanderbilt.edu/~rtucker/polisci/ Political Science Links, maintained by the University of
Central Oklahoma.
Offers a wide range of topics and issues for the
academic and non-academic. http://www.libarts.ucok.edu/political/links/poliscilinks.html Political scientists' homepages
This is a listing of many
political scientists' personal homepages. If your professor has a
homepage but is not listed, then you can suggest to them to add their
name! This is a good resource for browsing what many political
scientists are doing across the profession. However, keep in mind the
following: professional political science is very different from what
is taught at the undergraduate level – don't be put off by what may
seem more than a little abstract. An education in politics can lead
to a wide range of careers, including public service, law, and
journalism. http://w3.arizona.edu/~polisci/people/p_faculty.html
