Structured Conflict: Interest Groups and Politics

National Political Index: Contacting Political Activist Groups
The National Political Index is probably the most comprehensive guide to political resources on the Web (thus, can be a bit daunting). This section lists interest groups that can be reached over the Web - of course there are some missing, but at last count there were about 600 groups listed in 21 different categories. Some of the most famous interest groups are listed below for this chapter. Note that this is a selective list, not of the most important groups, and certainly not of the "best" or "correct" groups - that is a decision that we make ourselves as informed citizens. The groups listed are some of the most famous in different areas of policy, and have been selected mainly for illustrative purposes. For information on any other issue areas, and groups representing the wide range of positions on these issues, be sure to browse this National Political Index site.
