Determine whether your school allows students to use Telnet to work from home while connected to the school’s computers. Can this be done for all courses that normally use the school’s computers? Is there a FAQ concerning Telnet use by students? Is there an employee whose job it is to answer students’ questions concerning Telnet usage?

Your school probably has a website. What is its URL? Do you have a major field of study? If so, does that department at your school have its own URL? Does the course for which you are using this book have its own URL? How about your instructor for this course? Does she or he maintain a home page? Identify the component parts of each URL you discover: the Web protocol; the name of the Web server; the directory (or folder) on that server; and the file within that directory, if one is specified.
