• The easy-to-follow, easy-to-teach-from lesson structure consists of three parts:

1. Gráficos (Vocabulary): The manageable vocabulary of Motivos is introduced in highly visual (and pedagogically sound) Grafícos sections. The introduction of color in the art in the sixth edition increases the visual presentation and enhances the pedagogy behind the materials.


2. Gramática esencial: Motivos limits the grammar coverage to what is essential for the beginning student and presents it with very clear explanations and very focused exercises.


3. Comunicación: Communicative activities, many of which are realia-based, are found in the lesson-ending Comunicación sections, where students are able to further develop their communicative skills in Spanish.

• Engaging cultural coverage in the Viaje por el mundo hispánico sections that appear after every lesson introduce students to the cultural diversity and richness of the Spanish-speaking world. Poetry selections linked to these cultural pages are included in audio format on the free Listening Comprehension Audio CD provided with every new copy of the book.



• Special review sections (Ampliaciones) after every third lesson provide additional opportunities to develop reading skills and to complete a review exam.



• An integrated video illustrates functional language and reviews lesson theme and vocabulary.



• A text-specific interactive student CD-ROM offers review of vocabulary and grammar in addition to developing communication skills in an engaging format.
