About the Authors

Thomas Crandell received his Ph.D in educational psychology from Cornell University and is currently on the faculty of Broome Community College. His research and expertise is in designing instructional text-based and online materials based on individual differences in learning. His consulting activities range from designing, evaluating, and revising entire sets of training and educational materials and guidelines for international corporations, such as IBM, to serving as program evaluator and expert witness for a prestigious law firm in Washington, D.C. whose clients are in the business of training, distance education, and supervision.

Corinne Crandell holds a masters degree in Counseling Psychology from SUNY Oneonta and is currently on the faculty of Broome Community College. Shehas taught at both the college level and the middle school level over the past 27 years. For five years, she worked with children with learning disabilities, as well as with children who were "gifted." She became the Enrichment Coordinator for the 12 Catholic Schools of Broome County for one year, has coached Odyssey of the Mind teams for over 5 years, and has been involved extensively with the education of youth as well as college students. She provides insight into the development of a diversity of children in the educational system in a city environment.
