1. Go to the US Geologic Survey earthquake site at http://earthquake.usgs.gov/ to find the latest earthquake activity and answer these questions.
    a. Where did the most recent earthquake occur and how strong was it? If it is over 5.0, was it reported by the media?
    b. Find the earthquake that occurred closest to your location. What was its magnitude?
    c. Select the world map. Describe the region where most of the recent earthquakes have occurred.
    d. Compare the location of the earthquakes to the plate tectonic map in your textbook on page 62. What is the relationship between the earthquake regions and plate boundaries?
2. Go to the National Park Services geologic site at http://www2.nature.nps.gov/geology/ and select "Geologic Wonders" under the "Tour of Park Geology" feature. View each of the geologic wonders listed there and identify the tectonic or gradational forces discussed in the textbook which created these landforms.
