Endnotes  References or explanations that typically appear at the end of a document.
Footers  Displayed and printed in the margin at the bottom of a page.
Footnotes  References or explanations at the end of a page in a document.
Gutter space  Space between columns.
Hard page break  Inserted manually at a specific point.
Headers  Displayed and printed in the margin at the top of a page.
Landscape  Orientation of text and graphics on the width of a page.
Nonbreaking hyphen  Prevents a hyphenated word from breaking if it falls at the end of a line.
Nonbreaking space  Prevent a line break between two words.
Optional hyphen  Used to control where a word or phrase breaks if it falls at the end of a line, for example, to specify that the word "nonprinting" break as "non-printing" rather than "nonprint-ing."
Orientation  Flow of text or graphics across the width or length of a page.
Orphans  First line of a paragraph printed by itself at the bottom of a page.
Portrait  Orientation of text and graphics on the length of a page.
Scaled  Text and graphics enlarged or reduced to fit the size of a printed page.
Section break  Stores the formatting elements, such as the margins, page orientation, headers and footers, and sequence of page numbers for a specific area of a document.
Soft page break  Inserted automatically at a point determined by Word.
Widows  Last line of a paragraph printed by itself at the top of a page.
