How did all of the group members, including Julian and the non-M.D.s, contribute to the emergence of their "pecking order," which turned out to be a source of primary tension?
Review the opening story of our medical group. Besides the norm related to rational decision making, what other norms developed in this group?
Think for a moment of all the groups to which you have belonged. Your role probably changed considerably through time as you changed, as new people were added to or left a group, or as the problem facing the group changed. Do you see any patterns to your role behavior?
