To understand the main differences between deductive and inductive logic.

To deepen understanding of the fundamental inductive concepts: strong argument, weak argument, cogent argument, and uncogent argument.

To be able to recognize the main kinds of inductive arguments: statistical syllogisms, arguments from authority, induction by enumeration, arguments involving Mill's methods, scientific reasoning, and arguments from analogy.

To know the main kinds of questions to ask in order to evaluate the strength of each type of inductive argument.
