1
Describe the dualistic tension that is found in almost every Pauline letter between the transcendent / universal Christ, and the immanent / intimately experienced by the faithful Christ.
2
Paul's gospel proclaims the Christian's freedom from the bondage of the Torah. List some of the ways people lived and acted differently as a result of this new found freedom.
3
Paul's main objective in his letters was to correct the recipient's beliefs. It doesn't seem to be the case that they chose to believe something else, but that they may not have remembered everything correctly, had some concepts twisted in their memories, or made the wrong inferences (given what their beliefs ought to have committed them to in terms of right behavior). Since this seems to be the typical way the human mind operates (or mis-operates), give some examples from your own life where you have told or taught somebody something and they took it the wrong way or misunderstood you. Can you empathize with the position that Paul was in?
