Certainly it could be argued that at times being creative is superior to being logical and vice versa but in most situations a combination of the two might be the best option.

They are complimentary. Divergent Thinking generates a variety of creative solutions on how to solve a problem whichproblem that can then be offered as choices. Convergent thinking takes choices and with knowledge and logic selects the best solution.
