About the Author



Laurence Steinberg graduated from Vassar College in 1974 and received his Ph.D. in Human Development and Family Studies from Cornell University in 1977. Professor Steinberg is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association's Division of Developmental Psychology and is currently the President of the Society for Research on Adolescence. He has taught previously at University of California, Irvine and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is the author of numerous scholarly articles on adolescent development as well as numerous books including: When Teenagers Work: The Psychological and Social Impact of Adolescent Employment (with Eileen Greenberger), You and Your Adolescent, A Parent's Guide for Ages 10 to 20 (with Ann Levine), Crossing Paths: How Your Child's Adolescence Triggers Your Own Crisis (with Wendy Steinberg).
