Maslow claims that once our basic needs are met, we are free to move on to higher levels of achievement. He also claims that not everyone makes it to the state of self-actualization. Check out the list of "Being Values" at www.maslow.org/bvals.htm and read through what characteristics constitute this higher level of functioning. First, create your own hierarchy of values, then discuss which ones you've already accomplished (providing examples), and which ones you are most motivated to achieve and why.
