According to Figure 3.18, which planet has the epicycle with the smallest angular size as viewed from the Earth? (The angular size of the epicycle gives the size of the retrograde loop for a planet.)

Using a protractor and Figure 3.13, find the angular separation between the two stars when the Earth is near the stars and when the Earth is on the opposite side of the Sun. How far away from the Sun (in terms of the Earth's distance) would the stars have to be in order for the difference in angular separation to be only 1°?
