1			Symbols are instrumental in our definition of communication. Looking at the McLean family, identify and explain the symbols-both implicit and explicit, concrete and abstract-present in the story. How do (or could) they influence the outcome of the story?
2			Rewrite the opening story with the different models of communication (linear, interactional, or transactional) in mind. Construct real dialogue derived from the issues present in the McLean family.
