DALLAS HIGH FIVE INTERCHANGE Zachry Construction Co. of San Antonio, Texas constructed the Dallas High Five interchange project between January 2002 and 2006 under a $260 million contract with the Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT) . This interchange project at Interstate 635 and U.S. 75 north of downtown Dallas was the largest single contract awarded by TXDOT. The tallest ramp is 120 ft higher than the depressed lanes on U.S. 75 that are 20 ft lower than ground level. Zachry made several significant construction changes to support its aggressive project schedule. Two of the most important were the change of construction methods from cast in-place bridges to precast segmental bridges. The video shows how Zachry moved the precast segmental bridge elements using a specially designed erector machine. Below is a PowerPoint Presentation for your use.
