This chapter has brought to light the importance of the elbow-to-hand region of the body and the region's level of integration into the overall functioning of the upper extremity. The chapter began with an anatomical review of the region and descriptions of how to locate various bony landmarks and soft tissue structures. Various components such as range-of-motion testing and dermatome assessment were discussed in order to help the therapist obtain a thorough baseline for the region. The section on specific conditions noted the interrelation between the areas and explained how the presentations of the pathologies were similar. For each condition, the background, assessment techniques, and treatment recommendations were given to help the therapist effectively work on the condition.
