In response to reviewer requests for more production-oriented activities, new narration activities, in which students tell a story based on a series of drawings, now appear throughout the text, beginning in Unidad tres.
New unit openers now offer a piece of fine art based on the themes of the unit and a brief bio of the artist.
The Comunicación head in the margin now signifies the start of production-oriented activities within each Vocabulario and Gramática section.
New on-page annotations in the early lessons serve to explain some of the philosophical and methodological aspects of ¿Sabías que... ? In response to reviewer feedback, the En tu opinión, Observaciones, and Situación activities have been eliminated from earlier lessons (Lecciones 1–6). In later lessons, they have been reworked, expanded and embedded within the normal lettered activities as appropriate.
New online ActivityPak: The Interactive CD-ROM from the Fourth Edition has been redesigned and is now offered as a virtual ActivityPak on the Online Learning Center. The ActivityPak consists of interactive activities to practice the vocabulary, grammar, and culture presented in the textbook. Students can purchase a passcode card that will allow them to access the rich, robust practice material found within the ActivityPak.
Finally, the activities and content have been revised to keep ¿Sabías que... ? fresh and up-to-date for the many loyal users of its task-based approach.
