Chapter 15 (“Buss: Evolutionary Theory of Personality”) examines the work of David Buss and is one of two chapters in the new Part V, which discusses evolutionary and biological theories of personality. The Related Research section of Chapter 9 (“Maslow: Holistic-Dynamic Theory”) includes a new discussion of new research being done in Europe on Maslow’s Deficit and Being needs. This research calls into question the supreme value placed on self-esteem in Western culture.
