International Trade and Investment
John Gionea, RMIT

Overview

International Trade and Investment by John Gionea is basically an International Business book under a name which might provide it more versatility. It has the two traditional types of topics in an International Business book: environment of international business in Parts II and III (patterns of trade and investment, barriers to trade and investment, government policies , the international trade’s multilateral and regional framework, the international business’s financial framework) and topics at company level in PART IV ( the market-entry strategies, export-import management). Part V is quite an original combination of environment of business in the various groups of countries (e.g. industrialised, developing and transition economies) and the trade and investment issues a company should be aware and consider when doing business in those areas. What differentiates this book from other International Business books on the market is that it is a 100% Australian book and it has an Asia Pacific perspective in facts, statistics, issues and case studies. This is a suitable perspective for both Australian students and international students studying in Australia.
