As American history has progressed, people’s ideas of the American Dream have changed. What is your opinion about the American Dream?

Next, click on each audio clip on the home page, and listen to people talking about their native countries. On the left side of the page, there is a list of links beginning with “Timeline.” Click on “Timeline” and explore the photos, video, and text. Next, click on and explore “Who are you?” and “Gateway.”

After you have explored both websites, write your own song lyrics about the American Dream. Pick a song that you already know and replace the lyrics with your own. You can look up the original lyrics to your song on the Internet, so that you know how many words and syllables you need to replace.
