Snow

In this story, the narrator, Yolanda, recalls her first year attending school in New York City as a recent immigrant. During the Cuban missile crisis, her teacher explains radioactive fallout by drawing white dots falling from a mushroom cloud. Later, Yolanda sees snowflakes falling and fears a bomb has been dropped. Write a poem that expresses the message of this story. Capture the emotions and reactions of Yolanda. The speaker of your poem could be the voice of Yolanda, the teacher, the snow, or an outside voice. Include literary devices in your poem.
