1.

Ending Poem

The authors include motifs in this poem. A motif is a significant word, phrase, description, idea, or other element that is repeated throughout a work and is related to the theme. For example, one motif in this poem is the use of the phrases I am and I am not to establish specific qualities of the speaker. Review the poem for other motifs and examine how they function in the poem. Write one or two paragraphs in which you discuss the authors’ use of motif and how the motifs support the poem’s message. Include references to specific motifs in the poem to support your ideas.
