To gain facility in translating categorical statements into standard form.

To understand the logical relations associated with the Traditional Square of Opposition.

To be able to identify the converse, obverse, and contrapositive of any categorical statement.

To know when the inference from a categorical statement to its converse, obverse, and/or contrapositive is valid (and when the inference is not valid).
