About the Author

William F. Lawhead, Ph.D. is a professor of philosophy in the Department of Philosophy and Religion at the University of Mississippi where he has taught since 1980. He received his Ph.D. in philosophy of the University of Texas at Austin.

In 1988 he received the College of Liberal Arts Outstanding Teacher Award at the University of Mississippi. This is his second book His third book, Philosophical Questions: Classical and Contemporary Readings is forthcoming from McGraw-Hill for 2003. His special interests are the history of philosophy, philosophy of religion, and philosophy of language.
