Organized around six domains of personality functioning - biological, intrapsychic, dispositional, phenomenological, socio-cultural, and adjustment-adaptive, Personality Psychology examines the theories and research within the context of each of the domains. The text's perspective is one that sees the "whole person" as a sum of the influences and effects of each of these six domains. This approach will help students to bridge the gap between theory and research. It also allows instructors to explore topics such as gender, the self, evolution, behavioral genetics, and emotions which are difficult to integrate into a theory bound course. This is the only four color text for the personality course. |
