Waman S Jawadekar is presently working as an IS and IT Consultant. His academic qualifications include a Masters degree in Statistics and an MBA degree in Systems and Marketing from Stanford University, USA. He has in him a unique blend of both academics and industrial experience. He actively participates in designing and conducting customized courses for students and professionals.

During his thirty year long career in the industry, he has worked with different organizations in various capacities. He has been Manager, Systems and Technology, Sandvik Asia Ltd.; General Manager, Computer Division, Kirloskar Oil Engines Ltd.; General Manager, IS and IT, Thyssen Krupp Industries Ltd.; and Consultant, Project Management, Mastek Ltd.

Besides, he has been Adviser to a number of companies on IT Strategy, ERP, Product Development, Software Project Management, Learning Management Systems. He is also Chairman, Academic Council, School of Information Technology and Management, Pune.

His areas of special interest include Knowledge Management, Data Warehousing, Data Mining, Risk Analysis and Management, Software Project Management, Services Marketing, and Learning Management Systems and IT Strategy for the Enterprise.

He has two other published books to his credit, namely, Management Information Systems, 2/e (published by Tata McGraw-Hill), and Reengineering Business Organization.
