Directions: The Apostrophe Protection Society was founded by John Richards, a former British journalist, to protest the abuse of punctuation marks. Visit the Apostrophe Protection Society’s website and browse the messages in the forum.
Besides misplaced apostrophes, what other problems with grammar or punctuation do you see regularly on signs? Keep a record of the errors you spot this week.

Directions: Traditional proofreader’s marks provide a shorthand for professional editors to use. Check out this list of proofreader’s marks. Which of the marks would it be helpful to use in a peer editing situation? Which of the marks seem suitable to use in an electronic format?
