Topic area covered:  General Study
Location in text:  All

Description of tip:

Concept mapping is a technique of (literally) drawing links and connections between ideas. Using this technique you can generate ideas, design complex structures, communicate complex ideas, aid learning by explicitly integrating new and old knowledge, and assess understanding or diagnose misunderstanding. (from The Concept Mapping Homepage, http://users.edte.utwente.nl/lanzing/cm_home.htm) Rather than give an involved discussion of concept mapping here, please visit the Concept Mapping Homepage at http://users.edte.utwente.nl/lanzing/cm_home.htm for general information on concept mapping and The University of Melbourne Department of Economics site for information on Concept Mapping in the study of economics ( http://www.ecom.unimelb.edu.au/ecowww/cmm.html ).
