Treat Yourself Well CampaignMan: I could die next week and I really wouldn't care if I was fat or skinny.Narrator: The Wood brothers love to eat out, but you won't catch them ordering any light dishes.Man 1: They don't taste as good as the fat ones I guess. You have to add a little bit more salt and pepper or something just to spruce them up usually.Narrator: These tasters beg to differ.Taster 1: Way too good.Taster 2: So good. I'm enjoying it completely. Who would ever think to put a black bean sauce on salmon! It's wonderful.Narrator: These chefs would. They're working for restaurants that are participating in the Treat Yourself Well campaign.Woman 1: The chefs are artists, they're creators. They're coming up with really great dishes. Food doesn't have to have butter and cream and salt in it to make it taste good.Narrator: The key is to make low-fat food that's still full of flavor. This pizza from Sammy's has non-fat cheese and two servings of vegetables. You can't tell the difference between this and more fattening pizza.Chef: We've added non-fat cheese, non-fat dressing, and added extra vegetables to all the entrees.Taster 3: Because we're eating out four or five times a week, that splurge is happening four or five nights a week, and you know we have to do something about it. I really think it's about re-educating your palette.Narrator: It certainly didn't take much effort to learn to love this healthy food.Taster 3: This is only the eighth thing I've eaten!Taster 4: Oh, it's excellent. It's so great that I'm getting all these fruits and vegetables; it's really changing my diet.Narrator: With photojournalist Greg Madison, Sally Sherry, Ten News. |
