(http://www.norml.org) At the homepage, select the link to "Medical Marijuana." This will take you to the NORML "Statement on the Medical Use of Marijuana: Science Supports Amending Federal Law," by Paul Armentano, NORML's publications director. Read through the statement.
    1. Briefly summarize the key arguments in favor of the legalization of marijuana.
    2. What medical use of smoked marijuana is best established?
    3. In general, what is the actual legal impact of state legislation that recognizes the therapeutic values of marijuana?
    4. According to a 1999 Gallup Poll, what is the general attitude of Americans regarding the legalization of marijuana for medical use?
    5. How do you feel about this issue?
  2. Go to Yahoo: Sociology. (http://www.yahoo.com/Social_Science/Sociology) Explore the site to discover the various kinds of resources it offers. You will likely want to access this site in the future. Enter "alcoholism" in the search window and hit "Search." Under the Site Listings, scroll down to "Alcoholism: Health > Disease and Conditions" and select it. From your new cyber-location, select "Binge Drinking on Campus: Results of a National Study" and read the article summarizing the study conducted by the Harvard School of Public Health.
