3. Define group therapy. Because people are different and are dealing with similar issues they may be able to provide a variety of coping mechanisms to one of the group members and to develop empathy for others with similar problems.

4. Biological therapies do treat symptoms. For some illnesses the relief of the symptoms may be all that is required. Most successful therapies are a combination of the medical model with some type of therapy. When symptoms are somewhat relieved, a client may be better able to focus on the underlying problems associated with the illness.
