Recent discussion of emotional intelligence have heard across the American landscape, from the cover of Time magazine, to a best selling book by Daniel Goleman. EI has it's roots in the concepts of "social intelligence," was first identified by E.L. Thorndike in 1920. Psychologists have been uncover other types of intelligence for some times now, and group them mainly into three categories: abstract intelligence which the ability to understand and manipulate with verbal and mathematical symbols, concrete intelligence is the ability to understand and manipulate with objects, and social intelligence that the ability to understand and relate to people. Emotional intelligence refer to the ability to monitor your own and others' emotions also to use the information to guide your thinking and actions
