Ernest Williamson Ernest Williamson, the President of the Galveston Genealogy
Club, is preparing to give a presentation to new members. In
the following case problems, assume the role of Ernest and
perform the same steps that he identifies. You may want to
re-read the chapter opening before proceeding. - Ernest opens the pp05xtra04.ppt presentation and saves it
as "New Members" to his personal storage location. Your
screen should now appear similar to Figure 5.3. He adds the
following notes to the slides:
Slide 2 - Tell the Jack Langston Story Slide 3 - Tell about Americanization of names after
1800's Slide 4 - Don't forget to mention fees! He then prints the notes pages from the presentation.
Ernest realizes that this is a lot of info to be displaying
on the screen, so he decides to print handouts. He prints
handouts with two slides per page. He saves the
presentation and leaves it open for the next exercise. Figure 5.3 "New Members" presentation | (46.0K) |
- Ernest decides to get some practice creating self-running
presentations. Ernest displays the Rehearse Timings toolbar.
He sets the first slide to advance after 5 seconds. He then
sets the remaining slides to display for 10 seconds
each.
To avoid having to restart the presentation, Ernest sets
the presentation to run in a continuous loop. He runs the
presentation in Slide Show view to ensure that it works as
planned. Pleased with the self-running show, he saves the
revised presentation to his personal storage location as
"New Members Revised." He leaves the presentation open for
the next exercise. - Ernest wishes to display his presentation on the
club's web site. Ernest begins by choosing File, Save as
Web Page to save the presentation as a web page called "New
Members Page." He sets the title that is going to display in
the browser window as "Welcome New Members". Once Ernest
publishes the presentation and displays it in his browser, he
practices navigating through the presentation using the
navigation controls. As a final step, Ernest closes his
browser and PowerPoint. It's time to do some
research!
