I think everyone should be able to use file transfer protocol or FTP. It is the simplest and most effective way to transfer large, uncompressed, audio files on the Internet. One of the largest developers of FTP software is Ipswitch. Visit their web site at www.ipswitch.com, and explore the various software offerings. The Ipswitch Home FTP product area offers a very good tutorial as to how FTP works at http://www.ipswitch.com/Support/WS_FTP/tutorials/tours/index.htm. As an exercise, download a trial version of their home software and use it to transfer audio files to a friend or your instructor. There also are many less sophisticated, free versions of FTP available on the web that you might find helpful.
