Select one of the children's books suggested in the chapter to read about the Revolutionary War. Develop two or three activities that will incorporate listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

Choose a topic for an interdisciplinary thematic social studies unit such as The Middle Ages for a grade level of your choice. Develop a web outlining the skills to be taught in each discipline. Refer to the chapter for examples of interdisciplinary unit webs.

Select one of the disciplines from your interdisciplinary thematic social studies web and develop a NCSS Standards Linked Lesson Plan. Refer to the lesson plan included at the end of the chapter as a model.
