This chapter discusses multimedia as a sensory learning experience that motivates the learner and improves the quality of learning for a more exciting, interesting school experience. The chapter defines multimedia, explains hypermedia and hypertext, and identifies several major contributors to the field of hypermediA. Basic features of programs are described, along with ways to incorporate hypermedia into teaching. The use of the digital camera in creating multimedia presentations is discussed. Issues surrounding hypermedia are discussed, and QuickTime, morphing, warping, and virtual reality are also explained.
