Lab Manual/Exercise Worksheets prepared by Christopher J. Sutton, Western Illinois University Flow Mapping. The flow map shows linear movement between places. In this exercise, students create a flow map showing air connectivity of the medium hub cities of Boise, Idaho, Jackson, Mississippi, and Syracuse, New York in 2007. Skills covered in the exercise include: using absolute scaling to symbolize flows, adjusting the transparency of a map layer, labeling map features, converting the legend to graphics.
