The circulatory system consists of the heart and blood vessels.
It is responsible for sending blood to the lungs to pick
up oxygen and to the digestive system to pick up nutrients
in order to deliver oxygen and nutrients to all the organ
systems in the body. This system also circulates waste products
to certain organ systems so that these wastes can be removed
fromthe blood. This chapter discusses the lymphatic
system because it also circulates fluids throughout the body. |
