She is surprised by how quiet Turin seems compared to other major cities and is also pleasantly surprised by all the magnificent monuments she sees: heritage of Turin’s role as capital of Italy from 1860 to 1865 (the capital was then transferred to Florence from 1865 to 1870 and then finally to Rome). She likes Turin also for another reason: she has a big sweet tooth and Turin is where the famous gianduiotti are made!
