Sara is in Calabria, at Tropea, a popular beach resort on the Tyrrenian Sea. She is conversing with some Italians at the beach, who are suggesting that she go visit some of the main attractions of the region and of Basilica, Calabria's neighboring region. Matera, the main city in Basilicata, is famous for its sassi, a part of the city built in the rock, which still resembles an ancient town (Mel Gibson filmed the movie The Passion of the Christ, using Matera to represent Jerusalem). The writer Carlo Levi also described the region’s poverty during the Fascist period in the novel Cristo si è fermato a Eboli (Christ stopped at Eboli). In Calabria, apart from the beautiful beaches, Sara plans to go visit the Archaelogical Museum in Reggio Calabria that houses the famous Bronzi di Riace, two bronze Greek statues, found in the sea in the early '80s.
